Engel & Völkers property shop to make DFW debut in Lakeside

Roxann Taylor believes her Engel & Völkers property shop at Lakeside and Northwood will intrigue passers-by with its novel approach to marketing real estate.

Roxann Taylor jumped at the chance to locate the first North Texas Engel & Völkers property shop in The Shops at Lakeside.

“I knew Lakeside was perfect the first time I drove through,” said Taylor, the owner of a highly successful Southlake real estate agency who has been recognized by D Magazine’s “Best Real Estate Agents” for the last 14 years.

“People will pour in from FM 2499 to stop at the restaurants and shops,” she explained, “and there will be lots to do. It’s exactly the kind of environment I was searching for.”

Bottle and Bottega is a BYOB art party studio,” explained longtime Flower Mound resident Glenn Olson of his business that is expected to open in Building 1 of the Shops at Lakeside in February.


A bottega [boh-TEY-guh], by the way, is defined as the studio of a master artist, in which students learn by participating in the work.

“For the most part,” noted Olson, “we are more about having a good time and socializing than creating fine art.”

Moviehouse will provide lots of reasons to love Lakeside

The shape and size of the Lakeside Moviehouse and Eatery emerged quickly over the past week as the concrete walls and steel structure were lifted into place.

“I expect the roof to be on by next week,” said Chris “Big Dog” Rutherford of Blalock Construction.

Much of the parking lot is in and Rutherford expects the remainder to be poured by the middle of January.

Construction crews are working to complete Lakeside’s first mixed-use building in time for a December 9 “ready date.”

Lakeside’s first truly urban-style residents can’t wait. They are hoping to be settled into their new digs well before Christmas.

“All but one of the apartment homes in Building 1 are leased,” said Wendy Kline, property manager for Elan Lakeside, “and all of our new residents are very eager to begin their lives here.”
