With temperatures expected to reach 104-7 degrees (and feeling like 110+), the August 4 Lakeside Music Series show has been canceled. Every attempt will be made to reschedule Katrina Cain, a fan favorite at Lakeside, for a date in the fall.
The decision was prompted by concern for the safety of attendees, the performer, and our staff. The temperature Friday at showtime (8 pm) is expected to be 101, with a temperature-humidity index of 105. While previous performances have been canceled due to cold temperatures and rain, this marks the first time heat has canceled a music series show.
The August 11 performance of the Blurry Band also appears in jeopardy, with next Friday’s temperatures expected to hover around the same range. If the heat wave does not break, additional shows could fall victim to the extreme temperatures. We apologize for any inconvenience and we appreciate your understanding and continued support of the Music Series.
