The Lakeside Music Series show tonight (August 11) has been canceled due to the excessive heat — temperatures at showtime are forecast to be 102 degrees (with a heat index of 105). Tonight’s performer, Blurry Band, is expected to return in the fall when temperatures have moderated.
We apologize for any inconvenience and we appreciate your understanding and continued support of the Lakeside Music Series.
The cancelation of tonight’s show follows the cancelation of last week’s performance by Katrina Cain. Both decisions were prompted by concern for the safety of attendees, the performers, and our staff. The temperature at showtime (8 pm) on August 4 was 101; the temperature tonight at 8 pm is forecast to be one degree warmer.
August 2023 marks the first month in the seven-year history of the music series that heat has played a role in canceling performances. If the heat wave does not break (and showtime temperatures continue to hover at or above 100 degrees), additional shows will be canceled as well.
