Mark McLaughlin, director of operations for The Moviehouse & Eatery, provided a thorough tour of the construction site at Lakeside this week.
“We think the exterior profile will be outstanding,” he said standing in front of the building. “The entrance makes a big impression.”
Inside, he shared details of improvements and tweaks incorporated into the building based on the company’s experience in operating its other two locations in Austin and Keller.
He expects the theater to open to the public in July, in the middle of the busy summer season.
Opening in the summer will pose some operational challenges.
“Summer is our busiest time of year,” McLaughlin explained. “The kids are out of school, the film schedule is packed with content for every genre of film lover, and showings begin at 9:30 and 10 in the morning until late into the night.
“We operate virtually around the clock in June, July, and August.”
Then there is the pent-up demand in Flower Mound.
“We are expecting large crowds,” McLaughlin explained, “so it is important that we ramp up our staff quickly to ensure we offer our movie-goers the kind of experience that Moviehouse prides itself on and will keep them coming back.”
The Moviehouse in Keller has attracted large crowds with its plush recliners from which patrons have the opportunity to order classic American cuisine, crafted cocktails, and traditional movie treats.
The food is served to customers in their seats.
The July film calendar includes Minions, Ant Man, and Mission Impossible 5.
“We are eager to get started,” McLaughlin added, “and become a big part of the community.”
