This year’s Holiday season will be welcomed by a COVID-friendly tree lighting and the season-ending Lakeside Music Series on Tuesday, December 1, 5-8 pm (ending an hour earlier than planned due to chilly weather) around the Plaza in The Shops at Lakeside (2412 Lakeside Parkway in Flower Mound). Social distancing will be in effect.

Many of the customary activities of the Annual Lakeside Holiday Event have been sidelined by the pandemic.
“The family-friendly activities we enjoy presenting — free horse-drawn carriage rides, bounce houses, face painting, balloon animals, meeting Santa, and the special Holiday goodies at the storefronts — will have to wait until next year,” said Rebecca Everitt, development partner of Realty Capital Management, master developer of Lakeside DFW.
“To help keep everyone safe, we are postponing those parts of the Lakeside Holiday Event that would bring people too close together.”
The official tree lighting will take place at 7 pm, sandwiched between performances by Chaz Marie at 5 pm and Jon Christopher Davis at 7:15 pm. Expect to hear lots of your favorite Holiday tunes.

Horse-drawn carriage rides through Lakeside will be available once again this year. Contact Pleasures Past Carriages to book your ride. Note: carriage rides will not be free on the day of the event this year.
The stage will be located in the parking spaces just the north of the Plaza to provide additional room for attendees to maintain social distancing while enjoying the music. In light of the parking lot location, bring fold-up chairs if you plan to sit.
“We hope this more modest event will bring some joy to our residents and the Flower Mound community,” said Jimmy Archie, managing partner of Realty Capital.
“This is our way of wishing everyone a happy Holiday season.”
