The patio and open space at Building 1 will welcome diners arriving for a meal at Carvao Prime Brazilian Steakhouse.
The first tenants for The Shops at Lakeside — including three locally owned restaurants — were announced last night at Flower Mound’s Town Hall by Jimmy Archie, managing director of Realty Capital, master developer of Lakeside DFW.
“Our goal has been to deliver what the residents of Flower Mound requested,” explained Archie, “and that is bringing a mix of unique restaurants and businesses to Lakeside, not the typical chains.
“We are proud of the fact that all eleven of our initial tenants are owner-operated or locally owned businesses.”
Carvao Prime Brazilian Steakhouse, Taverna del Lago, and Paradise Bistro and Coffee Co. will bring distinctly local and personal dining experiences to Lakeside.
The three restaurant owners (all of whom were in attendance for last night’s announcement) have strong connections with the area. Two live in Flower Mound and the third has owned a boat on Lake Grapevine for years.
“Restaurants are a focal point of this project,” Archie added. “They will add to the vibrancy and excitement of our sidewalks and community.”
Two of the restaurants will play a key role in boosting nightlife in southern Flower Mound while satisfying the requests of residents for outdoor dining.
Carvao will serve fire-roasted meats espeto corrido, in which waiters or “gauchos” move from table to table slicing up to 14 cuts of meat on to diners’ plates in sequence. In addition, guests will be treated to an expansive salad bar, Brazilian-style cocktails, and an impressive wine list. The steakhouse will be located in Building 1.
Taverna del Lago, which will occupy the signature space in Building 4, will specialize in Mediterranean offerings from Europe, Asia and Africa as well as award-winning stone-fired pizzas. Specialty bourbons and 50 craft beers, many from Texas, will also be served.

This space in Building 3, which sits opposite Building 1, will be the home of Paradise Bistro and Coffee Co.
Paradise Bistro will cover breakfast, lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch. Similar to its location on the square in Granbury, the bistro will offer handcrafted espresso, coffee drinks, gourmet breakfast selections, and specialty sandwiches and salads
Archie pointed out that the Lakeside Moviehouse & Eatery, which is expected to go vertical by early December (and open in May), also will generate its share of nightlife and excitement.
Bottle and Botega will contribute to the pulse of Lakeside with its two art and wine studios where painting parties will be held. The two studios will be separated by a lounge for cocktail parties and other get-togethers.
Lakeside’s service businesses will include The Lodge Barber Shop (featuring hot-lather, straight razor shaves), Majestic Nail Spa (other locations include Mockingbird Station in Dallas and Museum Place in Fort Worth), and Amber Michelle Salon (offering haircuts and color design, extensions, facial waxing, airbrush makeup and special occasion hair styling, as well as a blow dry bar).
Your dogs will not feel left out. They can visit (with your help, of course) Elite Pups Luxury Dog Daycare & Spa that provides services ranging from grooming and spa treatments to pet sitting and walking. Archie joked that Elite is “the Four Seasons of dog care.”

Patrice Ciaccio, commercial leasing director for The Shops at Lakeside, and Jimmy Archie, managing director of Realty Capital, have been working since the spring to assemble a mix of retailers that “thrive on one another.”
The Shops at Lakeside will make even real estate and insurance fashionable.
Engel & Volkers, the upscale German real estate firm, is bringing one of its “property shops” to Flower Mound (other locations include Southlake, Beverly Hills, Scottsdale, and Boca Raton) with the help of Roxann Taylor, one of D Magazine’s “Best Real Estate Agents” for the past 14 years.
And Tammy Edwards, an established State Farm agent since 1996, is relocating her agency to Lakeside. A chartered financial consultant, Edwards also offers relocation services and retirement planning.
“With over three-quarters of our commercial space now leased (including the Moviehouse and Eatery),” said Archie, “we expect demand for the remaining space at The Shops at Lakeside to be strong.
“Our attention will continue to be on creating a special mix of complementary businesses that will thrive off one another.”
Construction on the six mixed-use buildings that make up Phase I of The Shops at Lakeside is projected for completion in late January 2015.
Openings will take place as the finish-out of each space allows, some as early as January.

These useless buildings have destroyed an entire ecosystem of amazing animals. This area was once beautiful, quiet, and comfortable. Your businesses have destroyed an entire community history, as well as have been responsible for the death of hundreds, if not thousands of animals.

So far it sounds like everything is going to be very “upscale” but a lovely idea for a community within the community of Flower Mound.
Flower Mound is very much a diverse community that is family oriented, has many retired folks and middle class to upper middle class to wealthy. Please make sure you offer something for everyone in the way of restuarants and shops. I think you can do this without bringing in “chain” shops and restuarants.
Thank you!
