Alternate routes for dam commuters

With the closure of Lakeside Parkway taking place this morning, we have some alternate routes for those commuting via Fairway Drive (the dam road).

In the morning, southbound commuters may find the smoothest route to be FM 2499 to Lakeside Village Parkway, which will take them to Lakeside’s southern roundabout. (Click map at left)

From there, they can head south toward the dam.

In the afternoon, northbound commuters who prefer a signalized (and protected) left turn on to FM 2499 should proceed north on Lakeside Parkway at the southern roundabout and veer right at Northwood Drive, formerly Long Prairie.  (Click map at right.)

Northwood reconnects with Lakeside beyond the construction zone.  From there drivers can use the traffic light to turn into the northbound lanes of FM 2499.
