Poor weather has forced the 2019 edition to be rescheduled for Tuesday, December 3, between 5 and 9 pm.
As in the event’s first two years, visitors will have the opportunity to ride free-of-charge in horse-drawn carriages rides through the Lakeside DFW community, participate in the lighting of Lakeside’s 30-foot Christmas tree, pose for photos with Santa, and enjoy the season-ending, holiday-infused Lakeside Music Series concert.
“The merchants of The Shops at Lakeside will also play a major role in the festivities by offering holiday treats and family-fun activities,” said Abbey Seminaro, development coordinator with Realty Capital, master developer of Lakeside DFW.
“There will face painting, balloon artists, letters to Santa, digital caricatures, and more,” she explained.
This year’s event will feature a Candy Land theme.
“Singer/songwriter Jon Christopher Davis will bring his high-energy act to the Lakeside Holiday Event stage for the third year in a row,” said Michael Clay, executive director of the Texas Music Project and the booking agent for the music series.
“Jon will take the stage after the lighting of the 30-foot Christmas tree. Suzy Morgan will open the show at around 5 pm.
“Both are very excited to perform for the bustling crowds that the Lakeside Holiday Event attracts.”
Denton County Friends of the Family will be onsite accepting hat, coat, and glove donations.
Free valet service will be available near Craft Pies Pizza Co., in the southwest quadrant of FM 2499 and Lakeside Parkway (click here for map).
Sponsors for the event include: First United Bank, Lindsey’s Lawn and Landscape, Bancorp South, The Moviehouse & Eatery, The Sharma Group-Compass Real Estate, Neighborhood Management Inc., Zephyr Gin: An Oak Stream Investors Company, Plains Capital Bank, Elan Flower Mound, and Pleasures Past Carriages.
