Thirty-six single-family lots in Lakeside Village officially went on the market Thursday evening, June 30, during an event staged by Van Trease Architectural Designs and Lakeside Village Realty Group at Lakeside Tower.
Approximately 10 preferred homebuyers were invited and offered the chance to officially select and reserve their lots. Six buyers signed and locked in their lots at the event.
“It’s exciting to kick off the process of selling lots so that we can begin working with buyers on plans for their new homes,” said Corey Van Trease.
Well-known for his luxury estate homes in projects including Vaquero in Westlake, plus Tour 18 and Point Noble in Flower Mound, Van Trease will serve as the community’s exclusive homebuilder.
“Corey’s clients swear by him,” said Jimmy Archie, of Realty Capital. “That trust was very important to us. We want each buyer in Lakeside Village to have every confidence that their vision will be realized.”
The zero-lot line lots in Lakeside Village will feature custom Mediterranean villas designed in the classic Santa Barbara style.
The lots are priced starting at $475,000. The homes, most in the 2,500-4,500 sf range, will cost upwards of $1.75 million.
“What I love about Lakeside,” said Californian Sheri Sindell, who’s moving to Texas to be close to her kids and grandkids, “is living in a neighborhood where I can walk to restaurants, shops, and the movies. It’s a lot like my neighborhood in LA.”
Sindell selected a lot on Lakeside Village Boulevard near Sunset. The lot backs up to a large private park for residents.
“In addition to the nearby retail, I am also excited to be near nature, the lake, and hiking trails.” Sindell added. “That’s something I didn’t have in LA. It will be great to have a brand new home, too.”
Early during the event, Van Trease addressed those gathered and reflected on his involvement with Lakeside Village.
“During our early meetings,” he said, “I was astounded at the talent, commitment, and passion of the team and the attention they paid to the smallest details.”
“I can tell you, this is going to be a very special project, and I am honored to be a part of it.”
Developers Jimmy Archie of Realty Capital and Peter Stewart of the Stewart Family also spoke and stayed to answer questions from individual lot buyers.
Both emphasized the longevity of the relationship between the Stewart family and Realty Capital, as well as the legacy of the Stewart family’s ownership in the property (dating back to the 1970s).

Stewart also shared how he and wife Jackie moved to Lakeside last year.
“We meet Lakeside residents all the time in the dog park and on the boardwalk,” Stewart explained. “And they are always eager to share how they moved here and how much they love it.”
“It was very exciting to have the first buyers in Lakeside Village together with Corey, Jimmy, and Peter,” said Vanessa Van Trease of Lakeside Village Realty Group
The evening ended on a light note when two buyers, having just placed their dots on the lot map, were struck by the recognition that they will soon be next-door neighbors.
“We’re going to be neighbors,” exclaimed Sindel to fellow buyer Alicia Gardner.
In recalling the moment a few days later, Sindell laughed, “I am delighted about that. We said hello to each other and agreed we’re going to have plenty of time to get acquainted.”
The Californian, having only just purchased her lot, was quickly making friends in Lakeside.
