Rosana Eckert duo at Lakeside Music Series

Rosana Eckert performs with keyboard accompaniment at the Lakeside Music Series on Friday, October 20 at 7:30 pm.

Expect a blend of pop and jazz. Eckert, a longtime jazz and voice educator at the University of North Texas, is a versatile live and studio vocalist, a dynamic improviser, and a creative songwriter and arranger.

Ever grounded in her jazz roots, Eckert’s solo work blends tradition and originality, sincerity and virtuosity, humor and heart. She has performed and recorded with many jazz luminaries, including Christian McBride, Bobby McFerrin, Kenny Wheeler, Marvin Stamm, and the New York Voices.

Recently, she was one of the three vocalists on the Grammy Award-winning composition “Eberhard,” released posthumously by legendary jazz pianist Lyle Mays in August 2021.
