The festivities of the Lakeside Holiday Event — including taking photos with Santa, lighting the 30-foot Christmas tree, riding in horse-drawn carriages, and enjoying live holiday music — will fill the streets and sidewalks of the community (2412 Lakeside Pkwy in Flower Mound) on Wednesday, December 1 (5-8 pm).
The Fifth Annual Lakeside Holiday Event marks the official beginning of the Christmas season in Flower Mound.
As in the event’s first four years, visitors will have the opportunity to take free horse-drawn carriages rides* through the Lakeside DFW community, participate in the lighting of Lakeside’s 30-foot Christmas tree, pose for photos with Santa, and enjoy the season-ending, holiday-infused Lakeside Music Series performance by Katrina Cain.
Christmas music will fill the air all along Lakeside Parkway.
“The merchants of The Shops at Lakeside will also play a major role in the festivities by offering holiday treats and family-fun activities,” said Abbey Seminaro, director of marketing at Realty Capital, master developer of Lakeside DFW.
“There will be toy train rides, face painting, balloon artists, letters to Santa, digital caricatures, and more,” she explained.
A CandyLand-themed kids activity zone will feature bounce houses, slides, and a candy cart.
The 30-foot Christmas tree will be lit in a ceremony starting at 7:30 pm.
Members of the Lakeside community are offering their support to make the event possible, led by Van Trease Architectural Designs, First United Bank, and Mind Matters Psychiatry.
Great help also has been provided by Furst Ranch, Lakeside Village, Magic Paint Services, Neighborhood Management, Inc., The Nexus Lakeside, Pleasures Past Carriages, Premier Christmas, and Texas Bank and Trust.
* Lines for the horse-drawn carriage rides will form on the north side of Lakeside Parkway, west of Surrey, between The Tavern at Lakeside and Personal Eyes.
