Dining comments through early Dec. 2013
Panera and Cafe Express. We need both of those in Flower Mound.
Tired, tired, tired of fast food in flower mound. Not too mention, there are very few places with patio areas. Good example of a good patio would be Anamias. As far as restaurants outside of FM, I like Brios in Southlake. I know you said outside that area but, in my opinion, Southlake is a pain to get to and should not be included in this. Also, would love to see a good sports bar go in this area. Even better if it had a good patio.
NO CHAINS! We need unique places like Il Cane Rosso, Javier’s, Lockhart, etc. Craft beers, cool patios. So sick of Flower Mound/Lewisville not supporting unique dining experiences and throwing money away at Chili’s.
Humperdinks
The Green House in Denton – awesome food & atmosphere
Love all of the unique non chain restaurants in Bishop Arts district
Joe T. Garcias
Company Cafe on the Trail (Gluten free restaurant)
City Bites in Oklahoma – great sandwich shop
Johnies grill in Oklahoma
Katy Trail Ice house
Bread winners
Casual Restaurants with a Healthy Menu is what is needed in Flower Mound. Chipotle & Panera are both great options like that but we also need a diversity of ethnic foods including Asian, Indian, Mexican (not tex-mex), Italian. Upscale restaurants are also great such as those located in the Grapevine Area: Mi Dia From Scratch and others in that area.
We DESPERATELY need upscale restaurants and bars as well as fun atmosphere dining in Flower Mound. There are not too many places where couples can go enjoy without a bunch of kids. Suggestions:
Jasper’s, Season’s 52, Maggiano’s, Pappadeaux, Brio, Bonefish, Oceanaire, Capital Grille, Gloria’s, Cafe Brazil, Sfuzzi, Cool River Cafe, Jake’s, Taco Diner, Blue Fish sushi, Ra sushi, Gorgon Biersch, Twisted Root
Whiskey Cake, Jasper’s, Season’s 52, Twisted Root Burger, The Londoner, Savour Tasting Room
Would love a coffee shop, bar/restaurant, and sandwich shop like pan era
Bonefish Grill, In-n-out, Giraldi’s Pizza, Torchy’s Taco’s, Roys’s, Papadueax’s, PF Chang’s, Mattito’s, Brio, Cheesecake Factory, Grand Luxe Cafe, Elephant Bar, Blue Mesa Grill, Cantina Laredo, Maggiano’s, Mi Dia Scratch Made, Winewood, Fireside Pies, Kincaid’s, Jack’s Porch, Planet Burrito, Freebirds, Macaroni Grill, Abuelo’s, Chicago Street Pizza, Hibachi Sushi, Original Pancake House.
I would love to see Tin Star, BJs, Flying Fish, Cafe Express and Twisted Root in Flower Mound.
A mixture of full service and nicer fast casual. Right now, dining options in Flower Mound just ok. We usually go to Grapevine for meals out. A Chipotle would be excellent, also perhaps a Cheddar’s. It would be nice if we could get an upscale grocery store, like Central Market.
I would like to see a Panera, Maggianos and a Portillos restaurant from Chicago and a Lou Malnati’s Pizza
Salata, The Mansion, Nobu, Seasons 52, Tillmans Roadhouse, Jaspers, Zizikis, Oceanaire, Abacus.
Anything with outside dining availability. Houlihans, Ruby Tuesday, Ice Cream Parlor too.
Generally any restaurant with a good patio space. Specifically … Full service: Cafe Brazil, Breadwinners, Jasper’s, Penne Pomodoro. Fast casual: Cowboy Chicken, Fadi’s, Cafe Express.
I love to dine outside in the evening when the weather is nice. I been to restaurants that have outside seating with stand up heaters for cooler weather that are nice. And softer, contemporary music is nice. Not so loud you cannot visit with others around you.
We are always looking for someplace new and different to go to. We need a mixture of cuisines and a nice patio with a view. We have vegetarians in our family so we like to see a menu with a couple of choices for them. We are overrun with Mexican places.
Grimaldi’s Pizza, Cavallis Pizza, cafe DuMonde.
BJs, On the Border, Pei Wei.
Gloria’s, Chipolte, PF Chang, Genghis, Dream Café, Non-chain restaurants, restaurants with outside seating. restaurants you can bring your dog with you.
Need good breakfast eatery
Dine In Bakery
Eclectic choices like Indian, Thai, Fusion Cuisine
Babe’s
Fine dining is a must. Seafood, Mexican, Asian, steakhouse, and things in line with Cheesecake Factory caliber or better. There are no great seafood places in this area. We have already contracted a villa and can not wait for this to get underway. Bella Dona in Frisco sets an out of this country visual tone which would be MUCH BETTER placed at Lakeside. adriaticavillage. Com for more. Make this place a Crown Jewel with perpetual sunsets on the water. No place can compare to this location!
I prefer to dine at non-chain chef driven restaurants. Please do not put in restaurants that you can find in any other city i.e.: Panera, Chipotle etc. a unique location deserves unique venues
Seasons 52, Capital Grill, Jaspers, Javiers
German restaurant, Greek restaurant
Eddie V’s, Nick & Sam’s, Perry’s, Morton’s. We need a great steak place! Also love the Sports bar , High Velocity, located in the JW Marriott Hill Country. Huge screen TV’s!!
Breadwinners, The Salad Stop
We need a good Irish/English pub! The Londoner, Ringo’s Pub, Holy Grail Pub
Panera. We need lots more non-chain restaurants.
A restaurant like Houston’s would be the best! A place with GREAT food, a variety of dishes, and reasonable prices, but not cheap. And a decent bar area.
Looking for upscale non chain establishments
Craft brewery and coffee are important as well as well designed restaurants with full service. Local, sustainable, organic fare is becoming important to many people who care about what they eat, which will definitely appeal to the residents and visitors in this development. The Savory Bistro in Bartonville is and edible alternative to the overdone wasteland of restaurants in the region. Let the food speak for itself. Al fresco dining areas for certain times of the year and convert to inside dining when outside it too hot/cold.
Typical restaurant chains in this market are over-saturated. Regional chains are not as bad but prefer independents. Avoid repetition of what you can already get in Grapevine, Highland Village and Flower Mound. A neighborhood sports bar pub, similar to British pubs, would be ideal. Definitely NOT the Tilted Kilt (or Hooters-types), however!
Pappas restaurants, seasons 52, twisted root burger. seafood a must, HUGE lack of great seafood in DFW,Cane Rosso, Nick & Sam’s, Hibiscus
I’ve come back with a list. Pappa’s Seafood House would be totally unique to the area. Pappa’s Burger House is very nice casual food but very good. Coal or Wood burning Pizza places like WoodFire by Kirby’s, or Cane Rosso would be great. A nice steak house, of which there are many to choose from would be great as well. I also agree with Maggiano’s Italian as well. Having access to a bar along with these is a need as well. Sitting at the bar for eating and drinking would be great.
Lefty’s (Addison), Texadelphia, Cafe Express, The Keg, Mariano’s (or La Hacienda Ranch), Outback Steakhouse, The Ranch @ Las Colinas
blue mesa, glorias, chuys, grand lux, gordon biersch, houston’s, houlihan’s, trufire kitchen, tupy,s, whiskey cake kitchen, village burger bar, kenny’s smokehouse
Panera! (Southlake is too far!) Pinkberry, Mellow Mushroom, Wild Wing Cafe, Starbucks (I know it’s in FloMo but you can’t have enough), I’d like an authentic Chinese place that delivers too, Moe’s, Doc Green’s, Jet’s Pizza, or Something local that is JUST Flower Mound with local ingredients would be neat!
Cru Wine Bar, i Fratelli Ristorante & Wine Bar
Tommy Bahama’s and Cheeseburger in Paradise in Maui
Wildfire, Pf Changs, Maggiano’s Little Italy
We are current FM residents and don’t eat out in Flower Mound at all because the options are so poor. Everything here currently is chain, and I am discouraged reading Facebook posts about people requesting more chains. We were going to buy a house in Lakeside, but if the restaurants and shops are going to be similar to Cheesecake Factory, Maggiano’s, etc, then we know that Lakeside will not be a place where we will be living or dining.
I would like a Panera with an outside eating area. Entertainment might be nice for the later hours.
Favorite place is Mi Dia From Scratch in Grapevine, and the new 12 Stones in Flower Mound.
Wine grotto and/or affordable gourmet restaurants.
Gloria’s, Houston’s, Chick Fil A, Five-Guys Pizza, Corner Bakery
Mercy Bar, Blue Plate, Maxs Wine Dive, HG Supply Co
Torchy’s Tacos, Cafe Express, Panera, Five Guys, Pie Five, Potbelly
Legacy has a great variety ranging from Capital Grille and Seasons 52 to Chipotle. Southlake also has a great variety ranging from upscale to casual also We already have plenty of fast food and very casual restaurants so my preference wouold be something more like a Brio, Trulucks or something in that genre
Chipotle, Pei Wei, Bjs
Flying Saucer Brewery Emporium
I would think the concept at the Shops at Legacy in Plano would be a perfect mix of fine dining with some casual venues for Lakeside DFW to take a note from …something for everyone (Ranging from Bob’s Steak and Chop house all the way to Dunkin Donuts) but no fast food.
Please bring La Duni here! They are in uptown and North Park mall. www.laduni.com
Ice House and Company Cafe are great examples of the types of restaurants I would love to see… great outdoor seating, fun atmosphere, people watching (with trail), casual full service and unique; plus wife is gluten free and Company Cafe is one of the few sites that cater to that yet you wouldn’t know it. I’m also addicted to Sushi and Thai so I would love to have that close.
Please try to provide a mix of recognized brand dining to draw visitors, as well as unique or successful DFW area branded restaurants. Both a mix of Full Service and Fast Casual are good. PS. Extremely high end Full Service will probably not do that well. Also try to design restaurants with patios that will be pleasant as much time as possible, ie provide lake views, but shelter so they won’t be blazing hog in west sun (even though that’s where the clearly lake is.)
A good steak house, ala Bob’s or Landry’s. Definitely, definitely Twisted Root Burger Co.
The Mansion, Bijoux, Lark on the Park, 560, Neighborhood Services, Nobu, Papa Brothers Steak House, Oceanaire, Eddie V’s.
Cheesecake factory
Please open a La Duni
Needs a mix of fast casual and full service, my wife and I like the option to have something like Panera, but also would like to have another nearby place to go out on a full-service restaurant date.
Del frisco, joe t gracias, reata,
Grand Luxe Cafe would be worth looking into….and anchor stores, such as Nordstrom, Macy’s, Bloomingdales, Dillards, etc.
Because of the close proximity to Lake Grapevine I think some high end seafood restaurants would be successful. Also Tappa bars for appetizers and beautiful Texas sunsets!
Panera, Noodle&Co, Mellow Mushroom; Austin – Torchy’s Tacos, Eastside Cafe, Magnolia Cafe, Kerbey Lane. No more Subways. Period.
Love upscale family places, and would love more sports bar type places as well for happy hour or late night with friends.
Prefer full service for dinner and fast casual for lunch. Some fast casual favorites are Panera, Zoup, Noodles & Co, Cedars Woodfire Grill. We would love to see more unique, independent restaurants. No more Subway, Chick-fil-a, etc. Flower Mound is bored and new places will make us excited to go out more!
A wonderful pizza place is located in Deep Ellum as well as a new location in downtown Fort Worth. It is called Cane Rosso. They also have a unique brunch. http://ilcanerosso.com
ANYTHING OWNER-OPERATED, ANYTHING FOCUSING ON FRESH, LOCAL OR ORGANIC.
If you are going to bring in a chain, then how about: Seasons 52, Start – http://www.startrestaurant.net/index.php, PTerry’s http://pterrys.com/, Cafe Express
Pappadeaux, Twisted Root
Alamo Cafe, Longhorn Steakhouse, and Magnolia Pancake House – San Antonio
Kerbey Lane Cafe and Amy’s Ice Cream – Austin
J Macklins Grill in Coppell – Not a chain, unique offerings. high quality.
It would be nice to have a restaurant that serves breakfast as well.
Wanted to add Panera Bread to serve fast casual lunch and Breakfast bagels as well. Very much looking forward to walking to eat in Lakeside!! Another fast casual lunch would be Jason’s Deli as well, or something similar.
Seasons 52
We have GOT to get a Panera. I know they have one in Southlake and one in Denton but that isn’t nearly close enough.
Want a great sandwich shop
Pf Changs, BJ Brew House
Maggiano’s, Chuy’s
Keiichi (Denton sushi)
Not sure all the restaurants in those areas but…BJ’s, Cheesecake Factory, Pappacitos, Bonefish, Houston’s, America’s – I’m from Houston originally and I think that city has some of the best food around – eclectic and quality food with great service.
Classic Cafe-Roanoke, Kona Grill-Northpark, Texas in Richardson, Blue Mesa, Houston’s-Addison, Roy’s, Central Market, Carmel (Tampa), Bahama Breeze, Bimini Boatyard (Ft. Lauderdale), Perricone (Miami), Chop House, Seasons 52, Cool River-Irving, Cheesecake Factory, Brio, PF Changs, Capital Grill, On the Border
Baja Mexican Grill, Flying Fish. Some type of full service deli (not a pizza joint!) An upscale Tapas Bar.
I have lived in FM since 1998, the town still is struggling for top notch restaurants. We need a good steak, and seafood restaurant(s). No more Mexican food, that type is topped out.
I like the mix of restaurants at Legacy Shops in Plano and by Twisted Root in Roanoke. A mexican place with great margaritas would be awesome! Patio seating is a must! At Legacy Shops, seating at every eating place and coffee shop spills out onto the patio. Awesome atmosphere to walk around… An ice cream/yogurt/smoothie place would be nice, also.
Sushi Axiom, Cane Rosso, Jakes Hamburgers
We need a Cheesecake Factory in Flower Mound!!! Fast food, we need an In-n-Out. Claim Jumpers is not out here in Texas, would be a great hit. Also need a good sushi restaurant,, a good brewery like Gordon Bierch!! Don’t forget Starbucks!!
Katy ice house, coal vines, Capital grill, Nick & Sams, Villa O, Samui Thai, Houstons, Tillmans, Bolsa, Kenny’s
Houston’s or Hillstone
Family Italian.
A casual seafood restaurant with an outside patio overlooking a lake would be nice and maybe a Mexican restaurant with an outside patio. An ice cream or frozen yogurt place, coffee shop, an Italian restaurant would be nice and maybe a casual American food restaurant. Nothing overly expensive.
PLEASE BRING IN HIGH QUALITY RESTAURANTS LIKE TRU LUX- even a Maggiano’s will do
Rudy’s Country Store, Billadelphia’s, Razoo’s
Nick and Sam’s grill, Kenny’s, Coal Vines,
Cheesecakes Factory, Chuy’s
Seasons 52, Capital Grill, Tillman’s Roadhouse, Javier’s, Grand Lux Cafe
Champs or a good sports bar, Torchy Taco’s, a decent steak and seafood restaurant. A good brewhouse restaurant like the Yardhouse (California and Arizona). A few places that would have live music. A cafe with sidewalk dining.
Taco Diner. EatZI. Hard8 bbq
A Cafe Express type establishment would be great. Something that is clean, fun and family friendly but not overly fancy or expensive. I work in Fort Worth and drive through Lakeside every day, it would be nice to have a nice coffe shop/breakfast place to stop at on the way to work.
You must have a good steak restaurant such as Bob’s, Steve Fields, III Forks, Al Biernet’s. If you put in cheap places such as Saltgrass or Outback you are going down the wrong road and this is not what the people are asking for.
A Bazilian Steak House and Seafood
Season’s 52, RA Sushi, Mi Piaci, Whole Foods, Be Raw Food & Juice, Half Shells, Frank
Terillis, Cafe Brazil, Battuto Italian kitchen, Cedars Food Park, Pearl Cupp Coffee

Ritzys, fogo de chao, would love to see a cafe/bakery
Lark on the Park
Outdoor dining is much needed! Café with coffee shop would be a great addition like a Corner Bakery. NO Starbucks!
del frisco’s grill, pappas bbq, alligator cafe, torchy’s tacos, pappasitos,
Fast restaurants for a lunch crowd….Subway, Chipotle. Nice open air restaurants for evening activities….no or small chains for the evening dining. Fresh foods, medium cost and some higher cost (steak or seafood).

Pappasito’s, Goode Company Barbeque in Houston, TX, Houston’s, Twisted Root
Sip n Savor. Would love to see original eateries, not chains.
Restaurants and bars with outside seating. lake view seating and lake front walking areas.
I personally think a cool but contemporary and authentic ‘Around the World’ Food concept would be a great pull and drive to bring business in from the airport (a multi-cultural offering for all so to speak)… I have travelled..Look at New Zealand’s very cool Viaduct. Kermadec, http://www.kermadec.co.nz/home.htm
an offering from the Ocean with authentic food and different dining experiences, including a roof top and Tatami Rooms. Beautiful décor, design and concept over looking the water!
Shahi – a cool Indian Tapas style restaurant in Auckland’s trendy Herne Bay area. http://www.shahi.co.nz/index.html. Being British a good British Pub offering a traditional Sunday Lunch would be good. But more authentic in design and architecture… I would say this of all the buildings really.
French (Rise, in UPark & HPark) Spanish and Italian Tapas (Carluccio’s) and definitely something German I have huge amount of German friends so would have to ask them as that is not my forte..
I guess some branded (but cool and popular) chains Japanese/Sushi – Blue Fish. Brazil – Fogo De Chao? Nick & Sam’s Steakhouse…but definitely with some smaller, quirkier and unique offerings not offered anywhere in Dallas…
Lunch – Healthy is a great added concept so Seasons 52 and My Fit Foods as a to go option. Café on the Green (Las Colinas) Village Kitchen (Highland Park)
Sophisticated wine Bars (think The Tasting Room Wine Café in Houston) and some where with light music option in the evening (Dallas’s Library Bar) or a piano bar.. think I am hungry now!
Looking for healthy but not heavy type food. Love soups, salads, sandwiches, simple type foods.
Celebration – Dallas, Babe’s Chicken, Texas Land and Cattle, Alamo Cafe – San Antonio, PF Chang, California Pizza Kitchen. There’s a set of restaurants in Grapevine on Main St that share common parking area. I like the way that set of restaurants is set up. One of the restaurants is called Mi Dia From Scratch.
Max’s wine dive, neighborhood services, Eddie v’s, capital grill
Fish Shack in Plano! They only have the one location currently. I’m not sure if they want to expand but the Plano location gets awfully crowded and I would love to see them over here at Lakeside DFW.
Torchy’s Tacos, Whiskey Cake, Bread Winner’s
Cafe Italia, Del Frisco Grill, Cafe express, Cheesecake Factory, Eatzi’s
Love to see more locally owned restaurants and less chains
Granite City, Oklahoma Joe’s, Chino Latino, Houston’s
Charlestons
Please get a GOOD, AUTHENTIC restaurant for fish tacos. Not the Texas version i.e. Rubios or Wahoos…this market is ready and these are very casual but unique.
Also C’est Si Bon is a fabulous bakery/coffee gathering place in Newport Beach, Laguna Beach area in So Cal. NOT Starbucks….we want something different. The cinammon rolls are legendary.
Sounds like you want a “European village” feel to the community
Would love a Panera Bread…the one chain I would suggest. Would also love a “healthy foods”” type sandwich/soup/coffee place. More independent restaurants
Heard through the grapevine we might be getting a “Great Outdoors”” …Good food and would be a good choice
I’m a homeschooling mama of 5 and would love to have some fun options for the family within walking distance. (We live very close to Lakeside Park) In-In-Out would be a dream come true! Five Guys is good too but not as good as In-In-Out. =) We also like Panera/ Chipotle. There’s a Flour Shop Bakery in Highland Village that is amazing but we rarely drive there.
My husband and I would also like a nice to place to have “date-nights.”” We don’t like any of the local restaurants and we can’t leave the kids for a long time to drive into Dallas or other areas. I wouldn’t even know what to ask for.. something that doesn’t make me feel like I wouldn’t have been better off saving my hubby the money of a restaurant bill and cooking a pot of beans and cheese on our own stove after the kids go to sleep.
Pappadeauxs, pappasitos, Poppas steakhouse, wild ginger sushi (in lewisville)…and anything none chain. Please do AWESOME landscape…..tons of trees, shrubs, foutains, benches- suggest making it a “park” theme in the city. Truely make Flower Mound unique!!! Its a great suburb….lets make it the most desired place to live…and fast food chains and tons of apartments are not going to do it.
