Lots of work remains prior to the projected Nov. 1 opening of the roads in the single-family residential section of Lakeside DFW Phase I, said Scot Whitwer, construction manager.
Residents of Shady Point Acres will have to undergo another week of headaches as only one lane will continue to be open at the intersection of McPherson and Cannongate.
“We expect to open up that intersection to two-way traffic on Oct. 21,” Whitwer said.
Over the next few weeks, crews pull down the overhead power lines and bury them.
Lot grading will continue as will installation of handicap ramps at each intersection.
“In addition, we will complete the sidewalks, parks, walls, irrigation, and landscaping during the last weeks of October,” Whitwer said.
Permanents street and traffic signs should be erected around Oct. 25.
“We are still shooting to have it all complete by Nov. 1,” Whitwer said.
“Then, with town approval, we will turn it over to municipal control.”
