Officials of Lakeside DFW held a meeting at Lakewood Park on Monday, April 1 to discuss the Lakewood Park Expansion.
“Lakeside intends to develop a park between the existing Lakewood Park and our development,” explained Brian Leek of Realty Capital Management, master developer of Lakeside DFW.
“We will be providing a continuous trail which connects Lakewood Park with the Lakeside Village (Amphitheater, lake views, Northshore Trail, etc).”
The designer for the Lakewood Park expansion attended the meeting to hear residents’ input.
“I’d like to thank those who were able to attend Monday morning to discuss the Lakewood Park Expansion,” Leek said. “We plan to begin clearing the trees and underbrush on Town property. Our park designer, Leonard Reeves, is working with the Town’s environmental officer, Jared Martin, to identify trees which will be removed from Town property. We hope to begin work on the Town property this week.”

Due to concerns from the Dallas Off Road Bike Association (DORBA) and the Army Corps of Engineers about crossing the Northshore Trail in multiple locations, there will be just one trailhead at Lakeside DFW from which people will be able to access it. It will be located just west of the central roundabout at Lakeside DFW.
