The acoustic “funk-pop” stylings of J.R. Byrd won over the audience at the Lakeside Music Series in September.
So, he’s returning to The Shops at Lakeside Friday night, November 4, from 7 to 9 pm.
So is Sandy Sue’s BBQ food truck, which was a big hit last Friday night.
Byrd, a graduate of the UNT jazz school, is said to embody the “essence” of John Mayer, the improvisational quality of the Dave Matthews Band, and lyrical silliness of Jack Johnson.
His poignant, fresh, and bluesy melodies breathe life into his witty lyrics while channeling the stylistic influences of the revered jazz program in Denton.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or portable chairs.
The Lakeside Music Series brings free musical performances to The Shops at Lakeside on Friday nights through the fall (the third week in November).
In case of rain, the performance will be moved inside to Paradise Bistro & Coffee Co.
Brice Beaird and Milo Dearing perform next week. (For a schedule of upcoming performers, click here.)
