The old Heritage Lane will be closed at 9 am on Tuesday, August 27 to allow work to continue on completing the new street network at Lakeside DFW.
Residents who normally travel this road will be detoured to Surrey Lane via the newly completed Virginia Parkway and Exall Street (see map).
Direct access to Lakeside Parkway from the nearby neighborhoods to the north will be closed off.
“This is going to cause a lot of headaches for our neighbors,” said Brian Leek, vice president of Realty Capital, master developer of Lakeside. “We know the timing — coming with the back-to-school rush — could not be worse.
“It just could not be helped,” Leek added. “We want to apologize to drivers for the inconvenience this detour will cause.”
After construction crews remove the old Heritage Ln., they will complete grading the site, building retaining walls, and paving street tie-ins.
In addition, they will bury overhead electrical lines and complete the installation of franchise utilities.
This work is projected to be completed by Nov. 1 at which time town officials will declare the new roads open to traffic.

Down to one lane to get in and out of Shady Point Acres/Mcpherson Lane.
What is the time frame the this project as I saw no updates on the matter?

Will post an update on the web site over the weekend. Quick summary, McPherson/Cannongate intersection will be back to two lanes on or around Oct. 21.

This is so unfortunate, especially considering all the assurances the neighborhood was given that Heritage would remain open until the new road was ready, thereby allowing uninterrupted access to Lakeside. Any chance that at least Surrey can be opened earlier so that we don’t have 2+ months of being re-routed to 2499?
