The Lakeside Music Series kicked off its fifth season on Friday, June 5, with Danni & Kris performing a range of cover material, including “Stayin’ Alive,” appropriately enough.
“It felt like the right time,” said David Stewart of Lakeside DFW Land Ltd., who spearheads the series. “People respected each other’s space and our COVID-19 guidelines.”
The social distancing protocol for the music event calls for groups to maintain 6 feet between one another. It is recommended that groups not exceed 10 in number.
As people set up their chairs, they left a safe distance between rows.
To give spectators more room to spread out, the parking spaces on the north and south sides of the plaza are being cordoned off.
Signs posted at the series remind attendees to “Play it safe,” with guitars illustrating the proper distance.
“We want everyone to feel welcome,” Stewart said. “We encourage all attendees to respect the space of others so that we can keep the music going.”
Chaz Marie performs Friday night, June 12, at 7:30 pm. Expect an entertaining blend of country, delta blues, R&B, and rock and roll.
