In April of 2016, the Dallas-based, husband/wife Americana duo, The Gibbonses, released their debut full-length album, Among The Rubble.
A “timestamp for where they were as artists and humans,” each song relates to the personal and painful challenges faced during the couple’s first year of marriage.
The result, according to Texas Music Pickers, was a “captivating record [that] offers a tale of tragedy and finding resolve, leaving the listener engaged throughout the journey in between.”
As a live act, The Gibbonses are must see. Jackie sings with soul and power as she drives her bass drum and plays the tambourine. Brandon adds rich vocal harmonies along with his octave driven guitar. The duo has been described as “the Americana White Stripes.”
In February 2018, The Gibbonses returned to the studio to record their second album. Walking the line between hopeful and tragic, All We’ve Got is a reaction to the utter lack of empathy being displayed in today’s sociopolitical climate and our desperate need for an immediate course correction.
Walking the line between hopeful and tragic, the 10 songs encourage listeners to take an introspective look at themselves and the world around them.
