Officials of Austin-based Moviehouse & Eatery have selected The Shops at Lakeside, the highly anticipated retail component of Lakeside DFW, for their third location. They expect to begin construction in May.
“Lakeside offers a special environment,” said Leslie Sloan, co-owner of Moviehouse & Eatery, “while Flower Mound plus the surrounding communities provide the perfect location for our business.”
“Moviehouse & Eatery offers an upscale movie and dining experience that sets the tone for The Shops at Lakeside,” said Jimmy Archie, managing director of Realty Capital Management, master developer of Lakeside DFW.

Movie-goers choose from:
- luxury recliner with a drink and a great meal
- seats to rock and roll with the action
- a three-story screen
“As one of the nicest movie theaters in the country, it is in keeping with the character of establishments requested by Flower Mound residents as well as those currently building homes in Lakeside,” he noted.
“The Moviehouse also will act as a magnet,” Archie emphasized, “and will distinguish The Shops at Lakeside as a destination where people of all ages — from a wide geographic area — can entertain themselves for hours at a time.”
More announcements of future retail and restaurant tenants in The Shops at Lakeside are expected in the spring.
The Moviehouse & Eatery concept features the option of reserved seating in plush electric-reclining seats with individual dining tables to enjoy fresh, chef-prepared dishes.
Moviehouse currently operates one location in the Four Points neighborhood of northwest Austin and is building a second theater in Keller that is scheduled to open in October.
The 45,000 square-foot, free-standing theater at the Shops at Lakeside will be located on the northwest quadrant of Lakeside and International Parkways and will feature eight auditoriums.
The addition of the theater will nearly double the retail/commercial space initially projected for Phase I of the Shops at Lakeside.
“The hard work and persistence of Mayor Tom Hayden and the rest of the Town leadership and staff,” said Sloan of Moviehouse & Eatery, “has been instrumental in helping us bring our concept to Flower Mound.”
Town officials and residents are hoping for a Hollywood ending.
