Moviehouse & Eatery opens Friday, July 10, ushering in a new era for Lakeside.
“Moviehouse will enhance the entire Lakeside community,” said Jimmy Archie, managing parter of Realty Capital, master developer of Lakeside, “as a place to live, gather with friends, eat, drink, and enjoy entertainment.”
“It complements The Shops at Lakeside and adds to the many reasons people will choose to spend time at Lakeside.”
The Moviehouse’s line-up of films for its first weekend includes “Inside Out,” “Magic Mike XXL,” Minions,” and “Ted 2,” with showtimes starting as early as 9:45 am and as late as 11 pm. Remember reservations are required. Click here to select a movie and time.
“We’re more like a restaurant that shows movies,” said Tiffany Speaks, co-owner of Moviehouse at the fourth of four warm-up events Wednesday night, “rather than a theater that serves food.”
The lobby of Moviehouse resembles a sports bar with large televisions, generous seating, and lots of bartenders and wait staff serving beer, wine, cocktails, and food.

“We welcome guests to gather in the lobby area,” said Mark McLaughlin, director of operations, “whether they plan to see a movie or not.”
But the movie-watching experience should not be missed.
All of the alluringly plush electric-reclining seats with individual dining tables offer outstanding views of the wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling screens that employ the latest in digital audio/visual equipment. (Yes, even the front row. Just lean back in the recliner and you’re good to go.)
From your reserved seat, you can order and be served drinks and made-from-scratch dishes prepared by an in-house chef.
Every Tuesday in July and August (beginning July 14), the Moviehouse Summer Kids Camp gives families the chance to see a family movie for free.
“Moms are always looking for things to do with their kids,” said Speaks, “and we think they’ll enjoy this.”
Tickets will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. Doors open at 9 am and the movies start at 10.
Many of the wait staff hail from Flower Mound or neighboring cities and Moviehouse officials take pride in boosting the communities they serve.
At three of the events in the week prior to Friday’s opening, the company took the opportunity to support local programs.
The athletic programs of Flower Mound High School and Marcus High School as well as Christian Community Action benefited.
The CCA event attracted nearly 800 guests and helped raise an estimated $15,000-20,000 for the organization.
CCA heals, educates, and feeds families throughout Collin, Dallas, Denton, Tarrant, and Wise counties.
At each of the charity events, attendees paid $10 for admission, which Moviehouse donated to the cause. Everyone was served hors d’oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages with no charge. Those attending movies were offered one menu item for free.
“Everyone agreed that Moviehouse ranks heads and tails above other dine-in theaters,” said Cindy Shafer, vice president of development for CCA.
“I live in Keller and frequently see films at the Moviehouse & Eatery there,” she said.
“Some people asked me if it would continue to be this nice after the grand opening,” she laughed.
“I can attest to the fact that it will. The customer service and food remain outstanding.”
“It’s a really good company.”
