Yates’ soulful brand of country music won the day at the 2014 Texaco Country Showdown (awarded at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium). She has toured Europe and the US.
She and husband Will are also known to many locals since they perform frequently at their place of worship, Cross Timbers Church in nearby Argyle.
“Whether it is worship or country,” Yates told the Dallas Observer in May, “I approach being an artist as a soul, writing and singing to another soul, bound to a truth that has changed everything for me.
“I use my own journey to write and focus on relationships and experience.”
She has released four EPs since 2011, including “The Other Side” in May. Sample her music by visiting her web site.
Attendees may bring blankets or portable chairs.
Carvao Prime Brazilian Steakhouse offers a happy hour from 5-7 and along with Paradise Bistro and Coffee Co. will be serving food before and during the event. Epic Gelato also will be open during the event. Food trucks will be on site as well.
The Lakeside Summer Music Series will bring a variety of music to The Shops over the next several weeks, including Brian Holland, Sebastian Valenzuela, and Michael Clay with the Texas Music Project.
