A day in the life of Lakeside Parkway
Energy. Residents out walking, girlfriends window-shopping, business colleagues picking at sandwiches, mountain bikers relaxing and jawing. Senior citizens marching.
In addition to the shops, restaurants, lofts, and offices, people-watching will be one of the great attractions on Lakeside Parkway.
Take the pair of acquaintances at the corner trying to hurry to separate destinations, but locked in conversation.
The group of males hanging in the middle of the block — some casually, others blatantly — girl-watching.
Busy moms from a nearby neighborhood encounter each other in the doorway of their favorite clothing boutique. The shop door remains open until they decide to order iced teas at the sandwich shop next door.
The sidewalks are dotted with young and old, some hurrying, some strolling, some lost in thought. All seemingly comforted by the comings and goings of so many others.
A resident carrying a shopping bag runs into friends taking off from work early. They block the sidewalk before deciding to meet up later.
A pair of sweaty male joggers sidestep the group and run into three females in tennis outfits heading the other way.
From an outdoor cafe, a middle-age couple watches it all — trading smiles between sips of their lattes.
